Seal coating will continue tomorrow, Thursday, August
19. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT PEOPLE TURN OFF THEIR
SPRINKLER SYSTEMS to ensure a quality seal. Your
cooperation is critical and greatly appreciated. Below are
the lot numbers of the areas to be sealed. Generally
speaking, if no work has been done in front of your home
yet, it will be done tomorrow. Once again, please do not
drive on or near fresh seal coat areas or you will risk
damage to your car and driveway.
Overhill Lane: Lot # 65-69 east side, Lot #
39-45 west side
Stonebridge Way: Lot # 61-99 south side, Lot # 73-45
north side
Windridge Lane: Lot # 26, 51, 50 east side, Lot # 25,
52, 53 west side
Crowndale: Lot # 148-155 north side, Lot #

8/16/100
The following are the areas scheduled to be sealed on Tuesday 8/17/10. Please
notify the residents and remind them once again to not drive through these
areas. When we were working there the other day we did have one resident move
our cones and proceed to drive through the wet seal. Hopefully we won’t have a
repeat of this tomorrow. Also, please remind everyone to shut off their
irrigation systems. All of the areas to be sealed tomorrow will be in the
Pheasant View sub and are as follows:
Crowndale Lane: Lots 158-162, 148-155, 129-125, 83-87, 78-82
Windridge Lane: Lots 15-22, 27-34
Overhill Lane: Lots 65-69, 39-45
Stonebridge Way & Stonebridge Court:
Lots 13-15, 105-113, 94-104, 77-72
The way the sub is laid out this should not put anyone in the position of having
to walk too far to get to their homes. We will be putting out signs this
afternoon warning everyone that we will be working in their area tomorrow.
- 8/12/10 We need your help please!
I just heard from Dave at Al's Asphalt and his crews are
out prepping the area today for the seal coating. Apparently the weeds between
the street and curb have enjoyed this humid weather we have been having and have
sprouted up everywhere. It would really help them out and produce a better
product for all of us if the homeowners could help us out in the next day or two
and remove the weeds between the curb and street in front of their
property. These weeds have to be removed and it will be more timely and cost
effective if the homeowners could take a few minutes to remove them. Also,
it is very important that you restrict your watering to between 10:00 PM and
5:00 AM as the seal coat must be applied to dry pavement to be effective.
Thanks!

8/11/10 Seal coating delayed again. Some small
work areas (Glengarry, entrances, small sections) will be done on Friday.
You will be contacted directly if work will be done in front of your driveway
and they will not do the work at this time if it will create a problem.
The tentative plan is to resume next week on Tuesday, August 17.
-
8/9/10 Seal coating start delayed until THURSDAY, AUGUST 12 due to
weather. Some smaller areas will be done on
Friday as well. You may see workers doing prep work on Tuesday. They
will skip Wednesday so that they do not interfere with garbage pickup.
Work will begin in Pheasant View. PLEASE talk to your
neighbors and make sure that everyone knows that they cannot run sprinklers
after 5:00 AM on work days and that they cannot park in the streets. Thank
you for your cooperation!
-
8/6/10 Street seal coating! Please read this to avoid
damage to your cars and driveways!
- Do not park on subdivision streets, especially near
marked areas on Tuesdays and Thursdays, August 10, 12, 17 &
19 (weather dependent).
- Turn off sprinklers or have them only run between the
hours of 10 PM and 5 AM on these days. Pavement MUST
be dry for successful application.
- DO NOT DRIVE ON WET SEAL COAT OR PARK NEAR WORK ZONES OR
YOU WILL RISK DAMAGE. Seal coat will permanently pit
car finishes and stain driveways.
- Watch for signs to be posted the night before work days
indicating the areas to be sealed.
- If your home is in an area to be sealed and you will
need to leave your home, please move your car by 8 AM.
- Check this web site or http://PRRMA.org for updates or schedule changes.
Details
| Who? |
PRRMA and Al’s Asphalt are requesting YOUR cooperation |
| What? |
A protective seal coat will be
applied to our streets except for where there is a large area that was
just milled and resurfaced. |
| Where? |
PRRMA -- Pheasant View, Fairways and Fairway Pines subdivisions |
| When? |
Tuesdays and Thursdays, August 10, 12, 17 & 19 from 8 AM until 4 PM.
(Weather dependent.) |
| Why? |
The seal-coat will reduce water infiltration into the surface, and seal
hairline cracks, and improve appearance. It will also help delay
accelerated deterioration from surface raveling that results from loss
of asphalt in the existing surface as well as oxidation. When done in
conjunction with crack sealing (to seal larger cracks) and the isolated
patch repairs to fix more severely cracked areas, it constitutes an
effective preventative maintenance/early rehabilitation treatment to the
pavement. The high quality material we are putting down will last longer
than the typical sealer seen on commercial lots. |
| How? |
The seal coat will be applied by a tanker with 9 jet sprayers
approximately 18 inches off of the ground. The asphalt adjacent to the
curb / gutter will be hand trimmed first to assure a clean edge. Whole
width sections will be done at a time and longer sections will be done a
half length at a time to make sure residents don’t have to park too far
from their homes. |
Please check here often as more detailed information
will be posted when it is available.
